Tongue-tied – Cleaning Your Tongue
Brushing your teeth is different from brushing your tongue, obviously. While brushing and flossing removes bacteria from teeth and gums, but do you know that as much as 50% of the bacteria present in the mouth live on the physical surface of our tongue. Yes, you heard me right, 50% is quite a huge number. And it’s these bacteria in particular that can be one of the causes of bad breath.
To be more effective in cleaning your mouth completely is neutralising the bacteria that live on the tongue by scraping them off. Scraping in a sense where it may sound yucky at first to kids that don’t know about this but when they’re living up the benefits of a clean tongue and lively taste buds, they’ll, too, soon realise that it’s not so bad and yucky after all. There are couple and variety of ways your kids can get that scraping procedure of tongue cleaning and see to it which they are comfortable of when cleaning their tongue.
Truthfully, brushing is the least probably effective method as to clean your tongue when toothbrushes are concerned. Toothbrushes should also be considered as to what they’re capable of, design and material so that the toothbrushes can easily scrape those bacteria off your tongue. It’s more effective in removing the coating of bacteria from the tongue than brushing.
